Squaw Sessions - A Ski & Snowboard Clinic for Teens
Specifically designed for ski and snowboard crazed 13 to 18 year-olds, Squaw Sessions will provide the newschool breed with the opportunity to experience Squaw Valley's rich freeride culture firsthand. Teens will meet their coaches in the morning and be placed in groups based on ability. As a group, the teens will decide together what they want to work on that day. Whether they fantasize about conquering steep big mountain lines, like Shane McConkey or Jeremy Jones, or jibbing and jumping in one of Squaw Valley's three terrain parks, like CR Johnson or Eric Messier, Squaw Sessions is the open window into a young shred-dog's dream.
Appropriately, the camp's head coach is one of park skiing's pioneers, Evan Raps. Evan along with special guest coaches from Squaw Valley's famed Freeride Team will give teens a whole new appreciation for skiing and riding, not to mention, a brush with snow sport celebrity. Squaw Sessions participants who improve or impress exceptionally will not go unrewarded; each week there will be camp giveaways like snowboards, twin tip skis, and goggles from Electric.
DATES:
Squaw Sessions will take place over two weeks during Christmas and New Year's (Dec 22, 2007-Jan 6, 2008), MLK Weekend (Jan 19-121, 2008), nine days around Presidents' Day (Feb 16- 24, 2008), and over spring break, (March 8 - 9 & March 15 -16, 2008).
The camp isoffered in one full day session, which means teens are not bound to a week-long program and can decide to participate in Squaw Sessions one day and spend the next day on the hill with mom and dad (no doubt, showing them a thing or two).
